Journalism is a noble profession and objective journalism is facing new challenges in the region, said Dr. Ali Muhiyudeen Alquradagi, the General Secretary of the International Islamic Scholars’ Union.

He was speaking  after releasing a book titled  Hamas: The Struggle and the Message by P K Niaz, The Peninsula journalist, at the Indian Friends Circle auditorium recently. The function was organised by the Indian Islamic Association (IIA) Qatar.

“The History of Hamas represents the history of a nation’s struggle for freedom. The resistance of Hamas in the occupied lands has always been an inspiration to the Islamic world. I am happy that  the historical role of this movement to regain the authority of holy site Jerusalem will reach to a wide circle of Indian readers through this book,” he said. Dr ALqqradagi also urged the audience to learn Arabic language. He said that great works in Arabic should be translated into Indian languages and vice versa.

Dr A P Ja’far of Hamad Medical Corporation received a copy of the book from Dr Alqradaghi. The author introduced the book to the audience.
